When you think of purifying your skin, mud is probably not the first thing that comes to mind. In fact, when you think about it – using mud to cleanse your face seems downright foolish, don’t you think? Aah but it works! Mud wraps and facial treatments are spa favorites because mud has a high mineral content that cleanses, nourishes and moisturizes your skin.

The beneficial properties of pure dead sea mud is legendary, but I sort of zeroed in on these two:
- Removes dirt and oil from your pores allowing them to breathe. The fine granules help exfoliate your skin and remove dead skin cells.
- Tightens the skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Because I have dry skin, I was pretty happy with the fact this mask contains Vitamin C (my skin loves it), aloe glycerine to add a little moisture. I applied a super thin layer and relaxed while it went to work on my skin. The mask is thick and creamy with very fine granules. When you first put it on it feels really cool, but that sensation passes quickly. As it dries you can feel it tightening which is a good thing because it’s drawing impurities to the surface.
After 10 minutes, I rinsed it off with warm water. My face felt a little tight and dry so I applied a double portion of my moisturizer. After several hours went by the tightness eased up and my skin was happy and smooth.
Although this product is formulated for all skin types, I believe it is probably more beneficial if you have oily skin or combination skin, or if you are prone to breakouts. My skin is not sensitive, but it is dry and although I used a small amount for a thinner mask and left it on for no more than 10-12 minutes my skin felt dryer than usual for a few hours. So if your skin is dry use it sparingly. A little goes a long way.
